Janette Geri

Janette Geri

…a divine debut.. Janette’s guitar work superb..” The Herald Sun
..transcends categories..” the Age EG
..wondrous voice work and strong personal song writing..” Rhythms Magazine

..a classy recording, all the more remarkable for the fact that she produced, arranged and played everything on it. If Geri invites vocal comparisons with Joni Mitchell, she exhibits a healthy stylistic eclecticism that includes imaginative covers of Jimi Hendrix’s Little Wing, Rickie Lee Jones’s The Horses and Cyndi Lauper’s Time After Time, she even imparts emotional and rhythmic freshness to the perennial Danny Boy. Her original material is an ear opener too. Best of the latter are the ethereal Faery Counsel (in the Celtic mystical territory of Clannad and Enya) and catchy, gospel-inspired How Long.” Mike Daly, The Age Green Guide Sept 1994

Janette’s self-titled CD received regular airplay on ABC radio nationally, Melbourne’s community stations and selected commercial AM stations.  The CD was featured in an hour-long radio special “Oz Sounds” which was broadcast through Radio Australia’s World Satellite Network, reaching a world wide audience including North America, Asia & Europe.
